Focus and Scope
Prefix is an open access journal created by and for members of the GWU English graduate community. The journal aims to hybridize diverse research and creative interests of the graduate student body through an interactive peer review submission process and post-publication reader commentary. We encourage submissions in the embryonic form of scholarly articles, creative work (including poetry, fiction, art, photography, and music), reviews (of literature, music, film, area restaurants, anything goes!), meditations, grievances, reveries, and announcements. Please submit for any of the following sub-sections of Prefix: 1. mul•ti•plic•i•ties pl. noun scholarly articles 2. pork chops and jou•is•sance compound noun conjunction noun musings 3. on the couch preposition definite article noun faculty/student interviews 4. wun•der•ground gibberish creative works 5. –ings pl. suffix announcements You have the liberty to interpret the above sections as you wish. As we are hoping to launch our inaugural issue by May 2009, please send your submissions to Prefix by March 31, 2009. To submit, you will need to first register as a user at www.prefixjournal.org and then upload your document under the corresponding section in “Submissions.” If you have any questions about Prefix and/or are interested in joining us on the editorial board, contact us at prefixjournal@gmail.com.
